The Moldovan authorities announced a red code in hydrology due to the low water level in the Dniester River. It will be valid from October 10 to 16. It is reported by sb.by.

According to TASS , the Ministry of Environment informed journalists:
— There is a red code on the Dniester. Water runoff is estimated at about 20% of the multi-year monthly averages. At the Naslavcha-Kamenka site, this figure may drop below 20%, depending on the regime of discharges from the Dniester reservoir in Ukraine. The warnings also apply to small rivers. We call on the population and economic agents to rationally use water resources.
On September 26, a state of emergency in hydrology for a period of 60 days began to operate in Moldova, approved by the parliament at an extraordinary meeting at the request of the government due to the shallowing of the Dniester River, which is the main waterway of the country. Moldovan President Maia Sandu called on local authorities to urgently prepare alternative water sources, and Environment Minister Gheorghe Hajder said that Ukraine had stopped supporting the water level below the Novodnestrovsk reservoir. According to him, the water has greatly receded from the banks, fish are dying in the river, serious damage has been caused to flora and fauna.
Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan stressed that he appealed to the Ukrainian authorities with a request to urgently take measures to save the Dniester in order, in his words, "not to give reason for criticism of relations between Kiev and Kishinev from Russia." Executive Director of the International Association of Guardians of the Dniester River Eco-TIRAS, Doctor of Biological Sciences Ilya Trombitsky said that he was required to remove the post posted after the meeting of the Dniester Commission on social networks that unilateral actions of Ukraine led to the crisis situation on the Dniester River.
