The number of confirmed cases of measles in the U.S. in 2026 increased to 3,887, the highest since 1991. It's from sb.by.

According to TASS, citing data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States (CDC), the indicator for the incomplete year of 2026 has already significantly exceeded the results of all 2025, when 2,289 cases of measles were recorded in the country. The CDC confirmed 285 cases in 2024 and 59 in 2023. The last time a higher figure was recorded was in 1991 at 9643.
In 2000, measles was declared eliminated in the United States, meaning there was no continuous transmission of the disease for at least 12 months. The CDC attributed this to the vaccination program and improved overall sanitary and epidemiological control in the Americas. Due to ongoing outbreaks, the United States may lose this status in 2026. CDC information for 2024-2026 is preliminary and subject to change. New York declares first state of emergency since 2025 due to measles outbreak
