Earth will be covered by a new wave of geomagnetic disturbances on October 29-30
At the end of October, the Earth will enter the zone of action of the coronal hole on the Sun. Find out the forecast of geomagnetic activity for October 29-30 and what is the probability of a strong magnetic storm.

On October 29-30, an increase in geomagnetic activity on Earth is predicted. The reason is the impact of the coronal hole on the Sun. The probability of strong magnetic storms is estimated as low, according to information from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the IKI RAS and ISZF SB RAS, provided by TASS.
Around Wednesday, October 28, the Earth is expected to enter the zone of action of another coronal hole. For this reason, another wave of disturbances is expected on Thursday and Friday, although the probability of breaking the threshold of magnetic storms is still estimated as low. The speed of the solar wind, according to calculations, will increase to a maximum of 600 km / s (by about 50% of the norm), which is usually not enough to move to the red zone.
Earlier, the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the IKI RAS and the ISZF SB RAS predicted that in the period from 29 to 30 October the Earth will be covered by a new series of geomagnetic perturbations. These phenomena will be caused by the impact of the coronal hole on the Sun. Currently, experts estimate the risk of magnetic storms as low.
