On November 3, large-scale events dedicated to the Day of National Unity were held at the Smolensk State Institute of Arts. The organizers were the Ministry of Smolensk Region for Domestic Policy, the Assembly of Peoples of Russia (Smolensk Branch) and the Institute itself.
During the day, videos about the history of the holiday, culture and traditions of small peoples, as well as about the centuries-old friendship of the peoples of Russia were shown on television screens.
Representatives of the communities of the Smolensk region presented national costumes, toys, household items and traditional dishes.
In the hall of the institute there was a fair of bakery products from the Rudnyan manufacturer.
The bright end of the holiday was the solemn concert “My Soul, Russia”. It was attended by the best creative teams of the Institute of Arts, cultural institutions of the city and region, as well as representatives of national communities. Welcoming words to the participants were addressed by the Minister of the Smolensk Region for Domestic Policy P.Y. Mukhin and the Chairman of the Smolensk Branch of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia S.R. Krivko. The audience with great enthusiasm received the artists and thanked the organizers for a wonderful holiday.
