“Formula poetics of Yegor Letov”: the Voznesensky Center analyzed the texts of the musician
In the Voznesensky Center, where an exhibition dedicated to the visual side of Igor Fedorovich’s work was previously opened, a lecture by philologist Yuri Domansky “Formula Poetics of Yegor Letov” was held

The main thesis of Domansky: Letov’s poetry is a system of formulas, not a set of random images. According to the lecturer, the musician’s lyrics are based on contextual oxymorons: “angry springs”, “merry troops”, “concrete freedom”. Such contradictions only work within a particular text and create its integrity.
Separately, Domansky stopped at the study of the poet Yuri Orlitsky, who analyzed the book “Poems” by Yegor Letov. Orlitsky’s conclusion: the poet’s work presents almost all the poetic forms that existed in Russian poetry from the XVIII to the beginning of the XXI century. According to Domansky, this indicates not only the “unconscious genius” of the musician, but also that Letov read a lot and noted the places he liked.
Domansky also showed samples of Letov’s visual poetry: in particular, the text “Stairway to the Sky”, which can be read both horizontally and vertically, as well as manuscripts with “poetic fractions” – two words are separated by a line and can replace each other.
