"I have nowhere to decorate." Kirkorov runs for love in a new clip
Even a very popular artist has to remind himself of new music and new shows

“Modesty adorns a person, but there is nowhere to decorate me,” said Philip Kirkorov at the beginning of the evening, so that questions, if they were still left, dissipated like the smoke of a hookah in a pompous Turkish hotel in the center of Russian Moscow, where the “pop king”, who, as you know, has a weakness for everything Turkish, called everyone. Tall, and now even (after all the painful procedures) even a stately man in a sparkling black and gold outfit had every right to such a conclusion.
There are not many artists in this industry who really have nowhere to decorate. Nikolai Baskov also, of course, makes progress, struggling and Alexei Chumakov (who was often compared, especially in his youth, with Kirkorov - they say, similar, but not creatively, but physiologically), but to move Bedrosovich from his strazics-sprinkled throne is not easy at all. And the new clip is another golden brick on the road to perfection as understood by the self-declared "pop king.".
If we try to determine the current state of Philip, we can assume that our great artist seems to have ended the youth period. He doesn’t dance with bloggers and rappers anymore, he doesn’t take Buzova, Miami or anyone like that. You could say he's a little calm.
If the recent pompous video trilogy “Wash” / “Black Panther” / “Vesuvius” was a little reckless and many different divas of all genders and statuses, then in “Louise” everything is much easier. A beautiful girl in beautiful dresses, a pop star in the role of a romantic hero running after a mysterious stranger, win-win landscapes of Turkish Cappadocia, balloons, the charm of vintage interiors, coloring, as on a tourist postcard with the Pinkfloyd signature Wish you were here (“I wish you were here”). The song itself could be a cute romantic vacation soundtrack. But what will happen to her when the holiday is over?
"Isn't there too much doubt about these questions?" might ask, raising eyebrows in surprise, a lover of beautiful pictures and sweet melodies. But such a question, in the opinion of ZD, is more than appropriate. Pop music has always been fashionable to grumble, but producing it is much harder than criticizing. Especially now. People who practice wit in social networks, everywhere see and hear now artificial intelligence and are sure that clips and songs are instantly, after the task of the machine “do beautifully”. Even those who don’t build conspiracy theories are hard to impress. But Philip and all his local (no longer Greek, as once, DreamTeam), but also a team of no less dreams - with the poet Mikhail Gutseriev, composer Sergei Revtov and director Pavel Khudyakov - are very trying. And actually, there are results.
Strange as it may sound, but Kirkorov with his “Louise” for the first time can be compared with the Irish rock mastodons U2 living on a completely different musical planet. A week before Kirkorov’s presentation of “Louise”, Bono and Co. released a new single “The Greatest Show on Earth” and a video of the same name. Surprisingly, both Kirkorov and U2 released the so-called specific clips, where there is no pronounced plot and everything revolves around an atmospheric picture based on some geographical location.
Philippe has a bright variety of Turkish “shikadam”, U2 – monochrome and unhurried plans with light defocus, filmed in the deserts of California. For the first in response, Pavel Khudyakov, with whom Kirkorov worked on his recent clips. For the second – a great world authority, director and photographer Anton Corbijn, who came up with a very recognizable visual aesthetic for Depeche Mode, and for U2 shot Pride (In the Name of Love), One and other rock video classics.
Of course, the comparison here is with some stretch from the series "two worlds, two clips." A burlesque of color and light versus sparse minimalism, giving much more room for the song itself and its meanings. However, both tracks and clips suddenly fulfilled similar tasks. "Louise" returned to fans familiar and understandable in sound and picture Kirkorov - after his sporadic and convulsive fashion wanderings. The Greatest Show on Earth reminded rock fans of the real U2s, who, like many years ago, record their epic numbers with beloved producer Brian Eno, and the clips are filmed with Anton Corbijn.
That’s how it turned out to be an international fantasy with ears with musical greetings through the “iron curtain”. In the most gloomy dream will not dream...
