The XXXVII International Festival of Contemporary Choreography IFMC’26 will meet the city above the Dvina only in November, but already now we can say with confidence: the event promises to be grandiose in its scale. According to the Vitebsk Center for Culture, the current forum sets its own records for the number of people willing to take part in it.
IFMC’26 received 170 applications from more than 100 talented choreographers and creative teams from around the world. The geography of the participants speaks for itself: Belarus, Russia, Egypt, USA, China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan..
Such a wide international coverage promises viewers a truly unique spectacle. Different national schools, traditions and mentalities will converge on one platform, as well as different author’s views on modern dance. That is why this year’s jury and selection committee are faced with the task of choosing the best of the best in conditions of the highest competition.
The intrigue will be resolved very soon: the names of the lucky people, whose teams will be invited to Vitebsk, will become known in the coming days. The festival will be held in Vitebsk from 25 to 29 November 2026. Judging by the record starting figures, the autumn program promises to be rich, multifaceted and really bright!
