The exhibition of works by Belarusian graphic artist and painter Vladimir Gladkov “Between Heaven and Earth” has opened in the art gallery.

The exhibition of works by Belarusian graphic artist and painter Vladimir Gladkov “Between Heaven and Earth” opened in the ArtHaos Art Gallery on September 9, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
Art education V. Gladkov received in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). The author’s paintings are distinguished by soft restraint, a kind of color and subtle lyricism. The creative formation of the painter and graphics took place in the rich history and color contrasts of the land of Uzbekistan. In his works he remains committed to national traditions, revealing in his works the bright identity of the East. But the author is not limited to one territory on the map.

- The exhibition “Between Heaven and Earth” presents many states. It was impossible to specify everything in the title of the exhibition. I started thinking about what they had in common. And I understood the sky and the earth, said V. Gladkov. Here you can see a variety of landscapes and genre works, as well as several portraits and still lifes. On each canvas, I tried to capture life in all its manifestations: sometimes calm and stretching, and sometimes violent and expressive.

In total there are 42 works in the exhibition. Mostly there is painting, but there is also graphics. The author worked on pencil sketches when cameras were not a device of mass use. The artist wrote from life, he has no staged paintings, everywhere V. Gladkov caught a moment.

- I've been to almost twenty countries. In terms of scale and landscape, Russia was most impressed. From East to West, he traveled almost all the way. Went to Sakhalin, visited Baikal. The nature of this country can not but admire, and how many people have not yet seen! Of course, the other countries I visited are also very interesting, with developed tourism and logistics. But in terms of natural diversity, Russia is the leader in my list, the source added.

A special place in many paintings of the artist is occupied by people, their culture. So, on the canvas “Eating noodles” depicts Asians at a meal. Some sit on chairs, some on the floor. Some faces are blurred, and the heads of several people are turned in the opposite direction from the artist. The painter tried not to interfere with them and as an outside viewer depicted a household scene on the canvas. In the painting “Polotsk. Sophia Cathedral”, the author captured the market square and merchants assessing citizens in search of potential buyers. Presented at the exhibition and rural subjects, they can be seen on the canvases “Household scene” and “Village motif”.

- I always come to the exhibitions of Vladimir Ivanovich with great pleasure. He is one of those artists who brings back the real concept of painting. The picture with which I began my acquaintance with the author is called “Return from the Bazaar”. This canvas is part of the Central Asian cycle. But the artist painted Venice, Italy, Greece, and the Arkhangelsk region. He has a realistic painting, which is distinguished by great professionalism, shared the visitor of the exhibition Sergey Vecher.
The exposition will be presented until September 30.
