From amulets to wooden casings: Zaslavl Museum launches two exhibition projects on Belarusian culture
Historical and cultural museum-reserve "Zaslavl" presented two exhibitions in the central museum and exhibition complex, told the correspondent of sb.by the Deputy Director of the Museum.

The historical and cultural museum-reserve Zaslavl presented two exhibitions in the central museum and exhibition complex, Ksenia Semashko, deputy director of the museum for scientific work and at the same time head of the scientific and exhibition department, told sb.by. The exhibitions are combined because both projects are sacred. And one and the second performed the task of protecting the house and human life.

Exclusive exhibition "Wooden Crowns" is the first ever public demonstration of a unique collection of wooden casings collected by a Belarusian collector, photographer and traveler.
All casings, often crowns from casings, were collected during travels in Belarus. There are about 40 crowns from different regions, all very different.
The idea of the exhibition was to show the variety of decoration of window openings. Each of the casings combines both window decorations and amulet elements - on the casings we see zoomorphic plots, animals, plant ornaments. Previously, these elements of old windows and doors from different parts of Belarus were stored only in a private workshop.
The continuation of this exposition is the exhibition of amulets “From evil witchcraft to a happy return”. Its museum in Zaslavl was provided by the Belarusian State Museum of Architecture and Life. This is an interesting project, which was first exhibited on the territory of the Museum of Architecture and Life.
It tells about the human life cycle, the opportunities and rituals that a person used to protect himself, his family, his animals, his household. There are six blocks devoted to different periods of human life and various amulet elements that were developed over many centuries by our ancestors.
Well, everything, of course, begins with a woman as a mother, who brings into this light all the people, the future owners of their house. Therefore, one of the most important parts of the amulet is the protection of pregnant women and the protection of women. This theme runs through the entire exhibition - from the birth of a child and building a house to the protection of pets. In Grodno opened the exposition “The splendor of Omani silver” from the collection of the National Museum of the Sultanate of Oman
