The project of the Kargopol Museum reached the semifinals of the contest “Museums of the Russian North”
Project "Sound Landscape of the Annunciation Church"

The project “Sound Landscape of the Annunciation Church of Kargopol” became one of the semi-finalists of the XVII grant competition of the “Museums of the Russian North” program of the “Goodness of the North” Foundation. The shortlist of many applications included 19 projects, and representatives of 17 museums took part in the semifinals.
Participants will have to finalize projects with experts and online protection. The winners, who will receive grants of up to 1 million rubles, support of curators and participation in the full-time intensity, will be announced in December.
The Annunciation Church is the only church in Kargopol with a complex system of voices. For its study, the museum will attract specialists from the Brazhnikov Research Laboratory at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. The results will form the basis of a new excursion program, where guests will be able to hear the “voice” of the temple, as well as a popular science publication.
