Serpukhovichi visited the ancient temple and Moscow Strelets Chambers
On October 18, 2026, another pilgrimage and educational trip of students of the Spiritual and Educational Center took place. 18 people visited the Church of Sofia Wisdom of God in Moscow.

The trip began with participation in the Divine Liturgy and Communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ, after which a tour was organized for pilgrims with Father Igor through the temple and the bell tower.
Such visits to the center are regular. This is not just an acquaintance with architecture and history, but an important form of spiritual assistance to students: pilgrimage helps to strengthen the faith, learn prayer and consciously participate in church sacraments.
During the tour, students learned about the history of the temple of Sophia of the Wisdom of God. Particular attention was paid to the fact that under the kokoshnik there is a temple of the XV century, and the attached refectory belongs to the XIX century. Thus, on the example of one monument, the students saw how church life has been preserved and developed over the centuries, how different epochs have left their mark in the appearance of the holy place.
After walking on a warm autumn day, the pilgrims visited the Moscow Strelets Chambers. The guide-sniper spoke in detail and fascinatingly about the creation of the Strelets army, about the daily life of the Strelets and their families, about loyal service and riots, as well as why the Streltsy as a class disappeared over time. This part of the trip allowed the participants to better understand the historical context in which Russia lived and worked in the past centuries.
The trip once again showed that pilgrimage for students is a combination of prayer, acquaintance with shrines and living history. Regular visits help children not only to expand their horizons, but also to form moral guidelines, feel the connection of times and responsibility for the preservation of spiritual and cultural heritage.
