Within the framework of the federal project "Paths of the Far East" on the Taphar plateau in the Ivolginsky district of the Republic of Buryatia, the ecotrope "Plato of Genghis Khan" was opened. The new route is designed to combine the natural, historical and cultural heritage of the region and become a significant point on the tourist map of the country. The ceremony was attended by politician Sholban Kara-ool. He emphasized the uniqueness of the space where pristine nature, historical memory and modern art organically combine: This is an amazing place where the pristine beauty of native nature meets with the deep meaning and original art of Dasha Namdakov. It is impressive how it was possible to combine nature, history and modern art space. Stone trails, panoramic views, 12 bronze sculptures of the Eastern calendar and the majestic nine-meter “Guardian” create a unique atmosphere. Here you want to feel a connection with the land of ancestors.”.
The central artistic element of the ecotrope was the work of sculptor Dasha Namdakov, a native of Transbaikalia. Sholban Kara-ool noted the special importance of the master’s work for the cultural space of Siberia and the Far East: Dashi Namdakov is a native of Transbaikalia, but for me he is much more than a world-famous sculptor. He is like a brother, a close-minded man. Through his work, he reveals the richness and originality of the culture of our peoples, addresses our common roots, history and traditions. It is great that Dasha’s work can be seen in Tuva. His sculptures have already become part of our cultural space.”.
The politician also thanked the head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexei Sambuevich Tsydenov for systematic work to increase the tourist attractiveness of the region. According to Kara-ool, the ecotrope is not just a walking route, but a territory where culture, history and traditions come to life.
The organizers expect that the ecotrope will contribute to the growth of the tourist flow to Buryatia, including from other regions of Russia and from abroad, and will become a platform for popularizing the natural and ethno-cultural heritage of the republic.
