Smolensk schoolchildren are invited to the all-Russian action “Magic begins here!”

On October 20, in Russia, within the framework of the interdepartmental cultural and educational project “Culture for schoolchildren”, the all-Russian action “Magic Begins Here!” will start. Its main goal is to increase interest in circus art among the younger generation and give young talents an opportunity to express themselves. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Center for Cultural Strategies (ROSCULTPROJECT) and the Russian Foundation for Culture.

As the State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Zhanna Alekseeva noted, the Russian circus school is famous for the most complex acrobatics and the highest level of skill recognized throughout the world. The new campaign offers students a rich selection of eight nominations to demonstrate their talent:

“Original genre”: illusion, manipulation, athletics, playing with lasso and whips;

"Air gymnastics": numbers on the ring, slings and hammocks;

Juggling: solo and group performances, hulahoops;

"Clownade": pantomime, parody and buffoonery;

“Sports acrobatics”: gymnastics, balancing and jumping;

"Dressure": rooms with small trained animals;

“Figurative creativity”: author’s poster for circus performances;

Review of the circus performance: creative reviews of the seen shows.

Students from all over Russia can participate. To do this, you must leave an application in your personal account on the portal "Culture for school children.RF" in the period from October 20 to November 20, 2026. As a result, experts will select about 100 of the most interesting works. The names of the winners will be published on December 8, 2026 on the project website.
