The SSMU Theater will present in Smolensk the premiere of Eugene Onegin. Fragments of one life”

Cultural and leisure center "Gubernsky" invites Smolensk to the theatrical premiere. On November 16, at 19:00, the People's Drama Theatre of the Smolensk State Medical University will perform on the big stage.

The team will present a production of “Eugene Onegin: Fragments of One Life” based on the novel in the poems of Alexander Pushkin. The director of the play offers a new author’s view of the classics, focusing on the psychological drama of the main characters.

Despite the reverent attitude to the original text, the production explores the causes of the tragedy: why Tatiana’s sincere love and friendship led to the death of the young man and the loss of possible happiness by Onegin himself. On the stage, according to Anna Akhmatova, "the drama of irreparably torn hearts" will be played. The heroes will try to answer the question of why fate, which gave Eugene a great love and a devoted friend, eventually left him completely alone.
