The women’s creative meeting, organized by the Pervomaysky district organization of the BCJ, was held in the city children’s library No. 5 on October 15. Veterans and children of war, union activists and famous cultural figures were invited to the event, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

There were several reasons for the holiday: Mother’s Day and the International Day of Rural Women, which is traditionally celebrated on October 15. The main guests of the evening were People's Artist of Belarus Maria Zakharevich, Belarusian poet and member of the Union of Writers of Belarus Lyudmila Burdyko and poet and member of the Union of Writers of Belarus and the Union of Russian Writers Valentina Polikanina.

During the heartfelt conversation, M. Zakharevich shared her memories of the difficult post-war childhood, expressed deep gratitude to the parent generation and read piercing lines from Anatoly Vertinsky’s poem “Dazhynki”.
- I am ready to come here at night to feel your energy. Such meetings are needed to hear kind words addressed to each other. It's important! Sometimes black days come: loved ones leave, it is so hard to bear! Thank God that we have the strength to work.
L. Burdyko introduced the guests to her poems from children’s collections “Good Deeds” and “My Friends”. And V. Polykanina spoke about significant meetings in her creative destiny and presented a fragment of the poem “Sisters of Mercy”. By the way, this work formed the basis of the eponymous film-poem (directed by Anna Solovyova), which was voiced by Maria Zakharevich.
A pleasant surprise for the guests was the musical number performed by the saxophonist, who presented cult hits, and the fascinating performance of the ex-ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater.
The final chord of the meeting was the donation of a collection of leading prose writers and publicists “Great Victory for the Ages” to the children’s library No. 5. Also, a pleasant gift was prepared for M. Zakharevich: on behalf of the BCJ she was presented with the Zhirovichi Icon of the Mother of God.
