Nina Novitskaya lived in the Arctic Circle for more than 40 years, 12 of them taught fine arts at the Naryan-Mar Pedagogical School. Now the artist lives in Belarus, while continuing to turn to northern images in her art.
The artist’s paintings often depict snowstorms, frosts and endless snowy expanses. Yet her work is filled with warmth. They warm and create a special atmosphere, close and understandable to the Naryanmar people.
Dmitry Novitsky, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, specializes in graphics, but also experiments with different techniques and genres. He works with painting and sculpture, creates installations and performances. The artist regularly participates in exhibitions in Russia and abroad, including in Finland and Norway. The exhibition is organized as part of an agreement between the Naryan-Mar administration and the NAO Culture Department. The continuation of cultural cooperation will be a series of master classes by Dmitry Novitsky, which will be held this week.
