In Kaluga meet “New people”

Today, the regional center hosted a press conference dedicated to the VII Theater Festival "New People", which will be held from October 30 to November 15, 2026 in Kaluga, Obninsk and Moscow.

The innovative theater forum is supported by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the regional Ministry of Culture.

This year, NL guests are waiting for baby performances for the youngest theatergoers, street performances and a rap musical, a performance-rave for teenagers and adult Kalugans.

One of the most anticipated novelties was a performance co-authored by AI – the myth of Prometheus. The main topic will be artificial intelligence, which will be an active participant in the action. Neural networks were used to create projections.

Speaking about the participation of Kaluga collectives in the forum and the choice of venues, the organizers explained that there are many technical restrictions in the regional center. Among the applications were those from Kaluga and Tarusa. The selection is carried out according to the theme and quality of productions, as well as the technical features of the performances.

As the organizers explained, many festivals include local groups in the program, but it is more interesting to show them outside the home region, and Kaluga productions can get to the venues of New People if it is a special project or a premiere.

Guests are waiting for groups of different theatrical genres and formats, in total - 28 performances and performances from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh and Tomsk.
