In the “Night of Arts” Tulyaks are waiting for a concert of Russian romances by George Sviridov

On Wednesday, November 4, in the House of Culture in Yasnaya Polyana, a concert “Winds flow into song” will be held, timed to the All-Russian action “Night of Arts”. Soprano Daria Kilina and pianist Anastasia Andreeva will perform works by Georgy Sviridov and Valery Gavrilin, dedicated to Russia, its nature and fate, the organizers told MK in Tula.

At the beginning of the program, Sviridov’s romances and songs will be heard: “Russian Song”, “Birch”, “Tear”, “Autumn”, “Driving under Izhory”, “Downing the Forest Crimson Your Dress” and “Our Lady in the City”. Also, the musicians will perform the romance “Autumn” by Valery Gavrilin, who considered Sviridov his teacher. In these works, motifs of autumn landscapes, roads and home sound.

The central part of the concert will be a vocal poem by Georgy Sviridov “Departed Russia” on the poems of Sergei Yesenin. It consists of 12 songs, in which light pictures of native nature, memories of the house and dramatic images of the turning epoch replace each other. The work ends with a solemn finale, addressed to light and love. The poem Sviridov wrote in 1977. The composer highly appreciated its melodic richness and purity of harmony, comparing the work with a large fresco of ancient writing.

Daria Kilina notes that Sviridov’s music is particularly consonant with the autumn season. According to her, it allows you to feel the beauty of your native nature, immerses the listener in reflection and bright sadness, but ultimately leads to love and hope.

The duo of Daria Kilina and Anastasia Andreeva has existed for more than ten years. The musicians became laureates of the international competition “Romansiada” and winners of the Grand Prix of the competition of performers of Russian romance “The leaves whisper in autumn...” in 2021. In 2016, they also received the diploma of the First International N. K. Medtner Competition in St. Petersburg.

The concert will begin at 16:00 and last 1 hour and 15 minutes without intermission.
