In Penza approved a document on the protection of natural and historical features of the Belinsky Park

In Penza approved the subject of protection of the Central Park of Culture and Recreation named after V. G. Belinsky, which has the status of an object of cultural heritage of regional importance. The corresponding order was signed on October 16, 2026 by the Ministry for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Penza region.

The document defines the historical, natural and planning features of the park, which are of cultural value and are subject to preservation.

The subject of protection included four groups of characteristics: urban planning, features of relief and vegetation, historically valuable functional purpose, as well as the layout of the territory.

In particular, the location of the park is fixed in the central part of Penza, in a quarter limited by sections of Lermontov, Battle Gora, Karl Marx streets and their continuations.

Particular importance is attached to the landscape composition of the territory, formed taking into account the natural relief and vegetation. Its central element is the top of the Battle, or Popova, Mountain. Protection is also subject to elevation changes and species prospects opening from the park.

The document provides for the preservation of the historical relief and the characteristic composition of green spaces. The list includes cherry oak, small-leaved linden, sharp-leaved maple, elm, ash and birch, as well as old-growth trees and shrubs.

In addition, the subject of protection covers the historical layout of the park: the location of the main entrances and alleys, the system of pedestrian connections, the ratio of open clearings and dense green areas.

The functional zones of the territory are separately fixed - memorial, spectacular, sports, walking and natural. At the same time, the historically valuable purpose of the object remains its use as a park of culture and recreation.
