In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Honored Artist of the BSSR, theater and film actor, teacher Vladimir Mishchanchuk, the play “Fake Note” will be held at the Theater-Studio on September 10. The correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” found out what is remarkable for the production, and collected a selection of views and memories of the master.
What the play is about
The psychological thriller “Fake Note” based on the play of the French playwright Didier Caron in the production of the People’s Artist of Belarus Alexander Efremov is held with unchanged sold-outs. Viewers are attracted by a drama with elements of a detective story about a person’s personal choice and moral responsibility for their actions. They not only become observers, but also accomplices. The performance makes you look into your own soul, think about the proportionality of the crime and the retribution for it.
Life reference points
V. Mishchanchuk was born in 1946 in the village of Volovel, Drohichinsky district in a large peasant family. The house was often crowded. The sisters were singing, and Volodya was also asked to dance, sing, read poems. He loved to perform in front of fellow countrymen who christened him an artist. There was no other profession for Volodya.
- My father was a stableman, he taught me and my brother Nikolai to ride a horse without bridle and stirrup. And he always said, “My cottoners, I want you to ride three horses in this life, called Conscience, Mercy and Shame.” This postulate is adhered to today, assured V. Mishchanchuk. When I was in school, my mother sewed a brace over my shoulder for notebooks and a primer. So that she would close and things would not fall out, she asked her father's permission to take a button from his soldier's overcoat. As I walked down the street, it seemed to me that everyone was paying attention to this star, which shone like gold. It illuminates my journey to this day.
In 1968, V. Mishchanchuk graduated from the Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute (teachers - Alexander Butakov, Vera Redlikh). He was assigned to the Grodno Regional Drama Theatre, and in 1973 he was appointed its director. In Grodno, Vladimir Andreevich was awarded the title “Honored Artist of the Belarusian SSR”.
In 1985, he was offered the position of Head of the Department of Actor and Directorship of the Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute, and he moved to Minsk. Since 1990 he became the Dean of the Theatre Faculty of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, professor since 2000.
Vladimir Andreevich is the leading stage master of the Film Actor Theatre Studio of the National Film Studio “Belarusfilm”. He played more than 100 diverse roles in theater, cinema, performed on radio and television.
Acting profession is the best in the world
- From childhood I was sure that people who can reincarnate, kissed by God. He took creativity seriously, with great respect. I remember playing Lermontov’s Mtsyri, Pushkin’s Gypsies (the role of Aleko) in the school theater located in the hut. Physics teacher Yuri Degtyarev made a fire for us. He knocked it out of logs, and inside he arranged an electric light bulb painted with red gouache. When the lights went on, we had the feeling that it was really a fire. I was given a book for this role. This is my first award, said V. Mishchanchuk. Acting profession is the best in the world, great happiness to own it. I'm convinced of that. Actors are people who can try on many professions on stage, live dozens of different lives and destinies. And talent is the ability to live a piece of someone else's life as your own. The meaning of creative life is in self-improvement. I'm still learning about her. I'm a restless person. That's probably why I've lived so long. I haven't done everything yet..
