Polar “Joy” and “Russia” will go to the cities of the North-West Federal District with a premiere about pomors

Honored folk art groups – the song and dance ensemble “Russia” named after Sausage and the dance ensemble “Joy” of the Murmansk Regional Palace of Culture named after Kirov – will go on a tour of Russian cities with the premiere of the project “Lazori by the Cold Sea”. This was reported by the press service of DK.

The musical and theatrical performance will be based on the traditional culture of the Pomors of the Terek coast of the White Sea. It will show songs, dances and games that accompanied the holidays, festivities and everyday activities. Spectators will immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Pomeranian life and hear Pomeranian talk.

The name of the production is symbolic, because the morning dawns were called “lazori” in the North, and the White and Barents Seas, which were a symbol of life for Pomors, were called “cold sea”.

The first concert will be held on November 8 in Murmansk at the Palace of Culture "Ship Repair". Then the artists will perform in Hajiyevo, Apatity, Polar Zorya, St. Petersburg, Petrozavodsk and Kola.

The project “Lazori by the Cold Sea” became one of the 16 winners of the grant support program of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation in the field of folk art in 2025.

Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that the young dancers of the 48-year-old ensemble will go to the festival in India.
