The building of the Tula branch of the State Bank of Russia on Lenin Avenue, 38, was included in the unified state register of cultural heritage objects of regional importance

The building of the Tula branch of the State Bank of Russia on Lenin Avenue, 38, was included in the unified state register of cultural heritage objects of regional significance. The relevant order was signed by the inspection of the Tula region for the state protection of cultural heritage objects on October 20, 2026, according to the text of the document, which was familiarized with “MK in Tula”.
The monument was recognized as a three-storey building with a basement floor, which is located in the block between Lenin Avenue, Gogol Street, Friedrich Engels Street and Pushkin Street. The documents indicate the date of its creation in 1906.
The subject of protection included features of the location of the building in the historical building, its spatial composition and layout. Under protection will also be brick walls, design of facades, window and doorways, roof design, stairs and preserved elements of the interior. Among them are vaults and arches in the lobby of the first floor, vaulted ceilings of stairwells and coffered ceilings of the stairwell.
The inspection also approved the boundaries of the monument and a graphic description of its location. The new order cancels one of the points of the 2019 document, which previously established the boundaries of the territories of the identified cultural heritage sites in Tula. By the way, the order comes into force from the day of official publication.
Earlier, “MK in Tula” told about the restoration of the former cinema “Central” on Lenin Avenue. The 1952 building was rebuilt as a branch of the Polytechnic Museum, one of the oldest scientific and technical museums in the world. The work is carried out under an agreement between the government of the Tula region and the Ministry of Culture of Russia. The facility is engaged in finishing the facade, restoring decor and brickwork inside the building, repairing engineering communications and strengthening the structures of basements. The former cinema itself also has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional importance.
