Familiar streets will open on the other side: Ulyanovsk residents are invited to travel through the history of cinema

From October 21, residents and guests of Ulyanovsk will be able to go on an unusual walk through the historical center of the city. The Regional Art Museum has prepared a walking tour “Cinema of Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk”. A great film journey dedicated to the development of cinema.

Participants will be invited to look at familiar city streets through the history of cinema. The route will unite the places where the first cinemas once worked, film screenings took place and events that influenced the development of cinematic culture of Simbirsk and Ulyanovsk took place.

The walk will be different from the usual excursions. Instead of the usual story about the sights, the organizers prepared a small historical study in which visitors can take a direct part.

Tourists will be shown archival materials, offered to compare old images with the modern appearance of the city and perform tasks along the route. This format will allow not only to learn new facts, but also to independently track how the urban environment has changed.
