Russian Ambassador to Turkey Sergey Vershinin held a meeting with Turkish actor Halit Ergench, known for his role in the series “The Magnificent Century”. This was reported by the Russian Embassy in its Telegram channel.

The meeting took place in the building of the Consulate General of Russia in Istanbul. It was also attended by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in this metropolis Andrey Kalachev.

According to the diplomatic mission, Khalit Ergench spoke warmly about his trip to Yekaterinburg in September for the International Festival of Youth. According to him, the event provided an opportunity for young delegates from different countries to exchange views, including on the development of modern trends in culture, art and cinema.

Vershinin wished the guest further creative success and stressed the importance of cultural exchanges between the two countries and peoples. During the conversation, Ergench spoke about his landmark works, including the role of Suleiman the Magnificent. The ambassador, in turn, noted that this and other Turkish TV series are very popular among many Russians.
