RRPK refuses to build two super trawlers at Admiralty Shipyards
One of the largest Russian pollock miners, the Russian Fishery Company (RRPK) and the Admiralty Shipyards (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) signed additional agreements to terminate contracts for the construction of the ninth and tenth super trawlers of the ST-192 project. About this “Vedomosti” told two sources familiar with the implementation of the project, and confirmed the representative of the USC. The series of vessels being built at the shipyard in St. Petersburg will be reduced from 10 to 8 units. This decision was agreed by the parties, said the representative of the USC. The state corporation explained it by the rise in the cost of construction due to the “unprecedented volume” of replacement of imported equipment, as well as the lack of mechanisms to compensate for losses for the shipyard.
