Novak spoke about the possibility of extending the diesel deal with the United States
The first deliveries of the Russian diesel engine to the United States can begin in two to three weeks, taking into account the conclusion of the contract. Now the parties agree on commercial terms, including the price, Deputy Prime Minister Novak said

Russia and the United States are not currently negotiating the extension of the license for the supply of Russian diesel fuel after April 2027. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, reports TASS.
“There is currently no such negotiation. As for the extension, it is probably too early to say. We will see how the situation develops, he said.
According to Novak, the first deliveries of the Russian diesel engine to the United States can take place no earlier than two to three weeks after the conclusion of the contract. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that this time is necessary to load fuel, charter the ship and send the cargo to the consumer.
At the same time, Russian oil companies are ready to start shipments immediately, and now the parties are negotiating commercial terms, including the price. Russian diesel is in demand all over the world. Of course, other consumers are also interested, Novak said.
On October 9, US President Donald Trump, after a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, announced an agreement on the supply of Russian diesel to the American and world markets. According to him, Moscow should have sent more than 300 thousand tons of fuel immediately, another 500 thousand tons in November and 1 million tons later. Additional supplies Trump associated with the state of Russian refineries. Putin confirmed Russia’s readiness to supply oil and petroleum products abroad.
To implement the agreements, the US Treasury issued a general license allowing operations with Russian diesel until April 7, 2027. Since October 10, the Russian government has partially lifted the ban on diesel fuel exports, allowing at the first stage to supply 500,000 tons to the world market.
On October 14, Novak said that deliveries will go under direct contracts, the terms of which are being worked out by Russian and American ministries and companies. To send the first batch to the United States, he said, it will take time to conclude an agreement and load the tanker. Novak also said that by the end of the year, Russia could increase diesel exports to 3-3.5 million tons per month, which corresponds to more than 10% of the world market. He assured that the domestic market will be provided with fuel.
Later, the head of RDIF Kirill Dmitriev said that Moscow and Washington conduct “hourly communications” on the conclusion of contracts and solve logistical issues. Our energy bridges were burned so much earlier that we are actively restoring them, I would say, in an hourly mode, solving a lot of logistical issues about how to effectively implement everything. But everything will be in the coming days, he said.
