What makes Borisov district attractive for business people who want to do business here, and ordinary Belarusians

Effective implementation of state strategies and adaptability of enterprises became the foundation for achieving high economic indicators of the Borisov district

Today, Borisov district is one of the largest industrial, industrial and cultural centers of the Minsk region. There are about 6 thousand small, medium and large businesses. The district securely holds the status of the industrial core of the Minsk region, forming 20.2 percent of its total industrial production, and lays a solid foundation for further technological development. Borisov district is attractive for business people who want to do business here, and at the same time remains a comfortable, cozy and peaceful place for ordinary Belarusians to live.

Vera Jatsko, the operator of the line in the production of food products of OJSC Zdravushka-Milk. Renewal of production and increase of industrial capacities: a reliable economic base is being formed in the Borisov district

The economy of the Borisov district in the first half of 2026 shows a confident transition to an intensive management model, supported by a record growth in real incomes of the population and preparation for important investment projects. In the region there are enterprises of mechanical engineering and metalworking, instrument-making and others. And many of them are unique, and the products are in demand far beyond our country. The level of well-being is growing, housing is being built, parks are being updated, new places for leisure are appearing. More information about the vectors of development of the district was discussed with the Chairman of the Borisov District Executive Committee Nikolai Karpovich.

Nikolai Karpovich. — Nikolai Nikolayevich, tell us about the key indicators of the stability of the district.
Nikolai Karpovich. — Nikolai Nikolayevich, tell us about the key indicators of the stability of the district.

- Of course, the Borisov district was and remains industrial. This year we produced marketable products worth 4.1 billion rubles. At comparable prices, this figure is 2.5 percent higher than the same period last year. An important marker of economic recovery was the systematic reduction of warehouse stocks: thanks to a competent sales policy, they decreased by 10.8 percent since the beginning of the year, stopping at a comfortable level of 267.6 million rubles.

The undisputed leader and example of a successful strategy remains the city-forming enterprise of JSC “BELGI”. During the half year, the plant sold 51,423 cars for a total amount of 2.66 billion rubles, sending more than 20 thousand cars to the domestic market and exporting more than 30 thousand to the Russian Federation.

Confident upward dynamics is demonstrated by the agricultural sector, which worked ahead of the established tasks. In January-August, the agrarians of the district produced gross output by 179.6 million rubles (the growth rate was 102.9 percent).

The foundation for achieving such indicators was the effective implementation of state strategies and the adaptability of enterprises. One of the main drivers of growth is the implementation of the regional plan of measures for import substitution: the district produced highly liquid products for $ 957.69 million. This delivered an annual target of 67.7 percent at an impressive growth rate of 111.7 percent compared to last year.

A significant role in the development was played by the targeted state program "One district - one project", thanks to which the Zdravushka-Milk branch of the Slutsk Cheese Plant implements a project to reconstruct the existing cottage cheese plot for the production of cottage cheese and products based on it by ultrafiltration, as well as by a separate method. The cost of the project is 74.6 million rubles, it is planned to create 66 new jobs.

- What other investment projects are being implemented in the Borisov district?

- After a natural investment pause caused by the high base effect and the successful completion of major projects in 2025 (including the modernization of Borisov Plant of Medical Products and the R-53 highway), the district maintains the dynamics of business activity. By the end of 2026, the district intends to attract up to 839.2 million rubles of investment, ensuring a growth rate of more than 104 percent.

Catalysts will be commissioning at the Belgee, where the launch of high-tech equipment worth 35 million rubles is expected. Large-scale projects are also being implemented by Baztyub LLC, which is actively building a large pipe plant (34.8 million rubles out of 123.4 million of the budget have already been mastered), and Borisov Plant Avtohydraulics, which creates automated assembly lines for steering mechanisms and pumps worth almost 89 million rubles.

- Are the economic successes of the region directly translated into the growth of the well-being of residents?

Right. Technological renewal of production facilities and increasing industrial capacities form a reliable economic base, guaranteeing high employment and a stable improvement in the quality of life for residents of the district. For example, nominal accrued average monthly wages increased by 14.8 percent (significantly overlapping the target of 10.8 percent), securing Borisov 9th place in the Minsk region. Real wages increased by 9 percent.

Here I note that the attractiveness of the area is created not only by work and high salaries, but also places for recreation and entertainment. We are implementing many projects in this direction. For example, a roller ski track was recently built, even regional competitions were held. We are completing the reconstruction of the central park – we have updated the paths, sidewalks, installed a dry fountain and places for trade, launched a dance platform. The attractions have earned - and not worse than in Minsk. Maybe not on that scale, but nonetheless.

The 900th anniversary of Borisov was also transformed. The pedestrian zone was completely renovated here – the old pavement was dismantled and a new, modern pavement slab was laid. Bright evening illumination was installed, making the square a popular location for evening walks and photo zones. Remove the roads. For more than two years in the region, we are the first in terms of capital repairs of houses. We are changing the pipes and all communications, about 90 playgrounds have been restored in three years. We are installing new lights in the city.

Residents asked us to equip the embankment, we plan to implement this project with our private business. In social networks, we study the comments and wishes of our residents. All our work is primarily focused on people. Personally, I pay great attention to the appeals of citizens, there are many of them, I try to consider each issue personally. It is important not just to promise, but to fulfill what is said. If somewhere for objective reasons it is not possible to resolve the issue, then we talk about it in advance. Once again, our main focus is people who need to be given good living conditions. We will continue to implement the investment projects I mentioned earlier. And we will continue to strive for such a standard of living to keep up with the capital. In small steps we move forward.

Plans for 20 years ahead “We produce different products, which helps us to be more versatile in the market”: how Valery Zanko founded an enterprise to produce more than 1.5 thousand types of agricultural machinery

In the difficult 1990s, Valery Zanko joined the ranks of the Borisov Public Association for Assistance to Internationalist Soldiers “Polymya” and, together with partners, organized several commercial areas on the basis of the association. After the war, many people did not know what to do or how to realize themselves. According to him, it was in Borisov that there was a powerful Afghan movement, thanks to which it was possible to create a production enterprise. Today, the Metalist plant, whose director and founder is Valery Zanko, produces more than 1.5 thousand types of agricultural machinery.

In the hall of the company, we noticed a small stand dedicated to the heroes of the Afghan war. This topic is especially important for the director, because it was the events in Afghanistan that gave impetus to the development of his business. Valery Leonidovich says:

- It all began with the fact that in the nineties he took under protection three enterprises in Borisov and received an advance payment for these services for three months in advance. With this money, he created the first production site for the production of upholstered furniture. Gradually, the activity began to unfold. We made furniture, chandeliers, processed wood. A month then produced about 40 sets of upholstered furniture. She was in short supply at the time.

- In the nineties there was such a thing - it was difficult for many to decide on the type of activity. Businessmen were looking for themselves, trying to realize themselves in a different country. By the beginning of zero, I had a clear understanding of what I was interested in. A business in the field of agriculture appeared, began to supply foreign-made equipment, established the production of feed equipment, actively invested in business development. Earning from trade, expanded its production. Gradually he began to produce equipment for cleaning seeds, then won the tender and built 53 seed cleansing lines. I saw that the niche has not been mastered, which means that it is possible to develop further in this direction, the head recalls.

The logical step was the construction of a new plant for the production of agricultural machinery related to the processing, storage and processing of grain. The purchase of shares at that time of the plant "Red metalist" completely changed the direction of development.

- In recent years, he has invested about 40 million rubles in the development of production. A new machine-building plant has grown on the site, modern by European and even world standards. Now we produce more than 1.5 thousand different products: feed lines, grain drying equipment, grain cleaning machines and others. The company employs about 400 people. At the moment, we are building about 30 large grain cleaning complexes in Russia and Kazakhstan. More than 200 facilities have been built in Belarus over the past ten years. These are complex projects, our design base of 20 specialists copes with this well, says Valery Leonidovich.

By the way, all waste from production is processed into consumer goods. They produce more than 700 types: trays, stands, napkins. This allows more efficient use of labor and material resources. The third area of work is the production of spare parts for agricultural machinery.

- We supply equipment to Spain, France. We are working to export to Africa and Asia. These are new markets that are interesting for us, the interlocutor says.

In conclusion, we ask: how to start such a successful company?

- There are people who plan one day, some a week, a month, and others 20 years ahead. I'm one of them. First of all, you need to be a patriot of your country. And have a cold head. We need to encourage our employees to pay decent wages. Structuring strategy and playing long. We produce different products, which helps us to be more versatile in the market. You just need to observe, look at this process as a game in which it is important not to remain unprofitable, the head concluded. Continuous development strategy “This will be a new automated shop”: how the branch of the Slutsk Cheese Plant reconstructs the cottage cheese plot

The Borisov branch of Zdravushka-Milk of the Slutsk Cheese Plant is one of the oldest producers of natural dairy products in Belarus. Here mastered a line of more than 145 types of dairy products.

The company operates around the clock, without stopping production for a minute. At seven in the morning, specialists receive about 820 tons of milk from agricultural organizations, which is distributed between production sites. The branch "Zdravushka-Milk" includes two: Holopenichsky and Berezinsky. They produce butter, cheese, dry products.

- Per day we produce up to 140 tons of milk in a bottle, 50 tons of kefir, 11 tons of skim milk powder, 10 tons of sour cream, 20 tons of cheeses. About 70 percent of our products are exported. We work with a large Belarusian network, for which we supply up to 50 tons of mixtures per month for the production of ice cream and cocktails, said Lyudmila Krasnovskaya, head of production at the Zdravushka-Milk branch of the Slutsk Cheese Plant.

The management of the company adheres to the idea of continuous development. Since the beginning of 2026, the branch has been implementing a large-scale project on the initiative of One District - One Project, which in the future will allow producing even more types of milk, cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt.

- The product will be produced by ultrafiltration and separation. The capacity of the site is about 80 tons for the processed mixture. The completion of the project is envisaged in the middle of next year, the production head noted.

Speaking about the cost of the project, the specialist said that about 15 percent of the company’s own funds, the rest is money from the Development Bank.

- This will be a new automated shop, said Lyudmila Krasnovskaya.

After the implementation of this project, another, no less ambitious, is planned. In the future, the company plans to install two more automated bottle lines. From kneading to the counter "To follow the recipe and relate to the process with the soul": baker "Borisovkhlebprom" Andrey Kondratov - why the production of bread is no longer manual labor

Borisov bakery complex is one of the leading enterprises for the production of bakery and flour confectionery products not only in the region, but also in the Minsk region. It employs about 400 people, including baker of the 4th category Andrei Kondratov, who has been baking delicious and fragrant bread for more than 11 years, beloved by many Belarusians.

Andrey Kondratov.
Andrey Kondratov.

Andrei Gennadyevich studied at the Belarusian State University of Food and Chemical Technologies in the specialty “technology of bakery and confectionery products”. After the army, he worked seven years in the police as a company platoon commander. Then - a security guard in the store, a trucker. The work experience of our interlocutor managed to get large and different.

- I wanted to work as a baker in Borisov after graduation, but at that time there were no places at the enterprise. To get to the plant was only in 2015. All my friends worked here and said how great and promising it was. By the way, with his future wife Olga met in the last year of the university, talked for a while, and the relationship began a year before I got a job at the bakery. She didn't want us to work together, she discouraged me, but then she agreed. There are pros and cons to this. I think you understand that we see each other less often at home than at work, says Andrei Kondratov and conducts a short tour of the enterprise.

There are two workshops here. Our baker works in the bakery. From the moment of mixing the dough to the release of finished bread, approximately three hours pass. A day in the shop produces about 2.5-3 tons of products. The baton production line produces about 12 tons. Products are sent to schools, shops, retail chains and only on orders.

- Today, bread production is not manual, almost all processes are automated. The test mix is performed by a test-mass machine, test blanks are made in a special test divider. The baker's job is more about controlling, interacting with technologists. Test blanks go through the process of detente in special equipment, then the products are placed in the oven. I control the baking too. Determine the readiness of the product so that the bread is beautiful and soft. One shift lasts 12 hours and there are night shifts. The schedule is three in three, the interlocutor informs.

I wonder what the secret of making delicious bread is.

- It is important to follow the recipe and treat this process with the soul. Recently, new types of bread have been added to the enterprise, but the technology, as a rule, remains the same. Some new components may be added, a different ratio of flour, yeast. Now many people prefer dietary breads, says Andrey Gennadyevich.

He admits that he gets sincere pleasure when he sees delicious and beautiful bread at the exit.

- I love cooking at home, too. The wife helps in this process. Dishes are simple: meat in French, draniki with meat, baked potatoes. All holidays are held at work, so it is difficult to organize a joint holiday. We like to travel around Belarus and collect mushrooms in the forest. By the way, soon will be 20 years of our life together. Raising a son and a daughter. Roman serves in the army under contract, and Ksyusha is studying in the sixth grade. I am glad that everything has turned out this way in life, concludes the baker.
