Tourism warmed up the food supply market in the Southern Urals
The number of cafes and restaurants in the Chelyabinsk region for the year increased by 10%

The number of cafes and restaurants in the Chelyabinsk region for the year increased by 10%. Such data are cited by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the SME Corporation. Representatives of the tourism industry associate growth with the emergence of new recreational places and the development of infrastructure.
First of all, we are talking about territories where tourists come more often. According to the general director of ANO “Center for Project Development” Inna Khvatkova, entrepreneurs open establishments where there are landscaped public spaces, tourist routes and conditions for recreation.
As an example, restaurant blogger Azat Saparmamedov cites Miass. Here, infrastructure for travelers is developing, glampings and recreation centers are opening. Small cafes appeared near the new embankment. The demand for food, according to the blogger, is growing along with the number of places where people come to walk and relax.
Another area in the region is local cuisine. It is associated with historical methods of harvesting products: salting, fermentation, drying and drying. In the tourist agenda of the Southern Urals, gastronomy pays special attention, using local products and traditional recipes in the menu.
Food is increasingly appearing in programs of mass events. Examples include Mediagore-2026, the Paris Half Marathon and the X-Waters Ural at Turgoyak. According to the authors of the report, the number of gastronomic events in the Chelyabinsk region in 2026 reached 28.
At the same time, the given statistics reflect the growth in the number of establishments, and the explanation of its reasons is based on the estimates of industry representatives.
