Vitamin D is one of the most popular and frequently prescribed nutrients. However, its uncontrolled reception can cause serious harm to health. About how to recognize the excess of this element in the body, told the Russian doctor – allergist-immunologist Victoria Merkulova, writes sb.by.

The specialist stressed that vitamin D accumulates in tissues and is practically not excreted independently. Because of this, getting an overdose is very easy. In order for the reception to be safe and effective, you must first take a blood test and find out the initial indicator. Only on the basis of laboratory data, the doctor will be able to choose the exact dosage and determine the duration of the course.
Overdose of vitamin D is not always an acute condition, accompanied by extremely unpleasant manifestations. These include the reduction of calf muscles, the appearance of aches in the body, joint and muscle pain, general discomfort and a constant feeling of chills. Problems with the skin are also possible: severe dryness, peeling and the appearance of cracks, explained Victoria Merkulova.
The doctor also noted that if such symptoms appeared against the background of taking vitamin D, you should immediately stop using it and consult a specialist.
The doctor called the main sign of weakened immunity and explained when frequent diseases cease to be the norm
