In Ulyanovsk, a 45-year-old woman will appear in court, who, according to investigators, has repeatedly allowed her 12-year-old son to independently drive a scooter. One such trip ended in an accident in which the boy was injured. The investigation of the criminal case is completed, the materials were transferred to the court.
A traffic accident involving a minor occurred on June 25, 2026 in the Leninsky district of Ulyanovsk. At the wheel of the scooter was a 12-year-old boy who did not have a driver's license and the necessary skills to manage transport. As a result of the accident, the child suffered injuries.
As established by investigators, the teenager was on the road not without the knowledge of the mother. According to the regional office of the Investigative Committee, the 45-year-old woman systematically allowed her son to ride a scooter on his own in the district, despite his age and lack of driving experience.
After the incident in respect of Ulyanovsk opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 151.2 of the criminal code. She is charged with involving a minor in illegal actions that knowingly pose a danger to his life.
The investigation was carried out with the prompt escort of police officers. Investigators gathered the necessary evidence, after which the indictment was approved. Now the circumstances of the incident will be considered by the court, which will decide on the case.
In the regional IC draw the attention of parents to the danger of premature admission of children to transport management. Giving a child a scooter key and allowing them to drive without proper rights and training can lead not only to a traffic accident, but also to criminal liability of adults.
Law enforcement officers remind that the safety of minors primarily depends on their legal representatives. For self-driving a vehicle, the desire of the child is not enough: an appropriate right to drive, practical skills and the ability to assess the road situation are necessary.
On cases when adults are suspected of involving children in deliberately dangerous actions, residents of the region are asked to report to law enforcement agencies.
