Alcoholist caught in stolen car after 13 shoplifting
In New Zealand, a 33-year-old man was detained after stealing three bottles of alcohol from a store

In New Zealand, a 33-year-old man was arrested after stealing three bottles of alcohol from a store. The investigation showed that he was wanted on suspicion of 13 episodes of shoplifting totaling more than 10 thousand New Zealand dollars. This was reported by local police on October 19.
The incident occurred Friday in the Henderson area. According to law enforcement officers, a visitor to the store on Henderson Valley Road took three bottles of alcohol from the shelf and left without paying. Employees of the outlet reported the incident to the police and handed over the signs of the alleged kidnapper.
After about 15 minutes, patrol officers spotted a vehicle matching the description and stopped it. Behind the wheel was a man whose appearance and clothes coincided with the orientation. When checking documents, he tried to hide his identity, calling the police false information.
During the inspection of the car, police found three bottles of alcohol. An additional inspection revealed another violation. The registration plates installed on the car did not correspond to its make and model, and the vehicle itself was listed as stolen.
After identifying the detainee, it was revealed that police were already looking for him in connection with 13 separate thefts from shops. The total damage in these episodes exceeded 10 thousand New Zealand dollars. In addition, the man is suspected of violating the terms of previously appointed bail.
The detainee was charged with 13 counts of embezzlement and several other offenses. He was kept in custody. On October 19, the district court of Whitakere is scheduled to hear his case.
