According to prosecutors, he allowed American agents into an "illegal" raid on an alleged drug lab in April. There was no authorization required by Mexican law.
The arrest warrant was signed by a federal judge after months of investigation. Prosecutor General Ernestine Godoy said that Hauregui could allow foreigners to participate in activities within the competence of the national security forces.
In April, the United States acknowledged the death of two employees of the embassy in Mexico City. According to sources, these were CIA officers involved in the fight against drugs. President Claudia Scheinbaum confirmed that Mexico welcomes intelligence sharing, but does not allow direct involvement of US forces in operations.
