Zaporozhye regional court sentenced the former acting Deputy Minister of transport Zaporozhye region. This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the region.
Since April 2024, the 65-year-old official extorted bribes from officials of the State Unitary Enterprise “Management of Roads of the Zaporozhye Region”. For the money, he promised not to interfere with the work of the enterprise.
He received 750 thousand rubles and services for 150 thousand. He also demanded another 1 million rubles, but was detained by the FSB until the full amount was received.
The court appointed him 8 years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 19 million rubles. He was deprived of the right to hold public office for 7 years. The former official was confiscated 900 thousand rubles.
