Ivanovsky SK opened a case after the death of a firefighter at a mattress plant in Ivanovo

The Investigative Committee for the Ivanovo region opened a criminal case on the death of an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. A firefighter died this afternoon in a roof collapse while extinguishing a major fire in a production building on Kosyakov Street.

According to the investigation, the fire broke out at the factory for the manufacture of mattresses. In addition to the deceased, medical care was required for four more firefighters, who also suffered during the elimination of the fire.

Now investigators and criminologists are working on the scene of the tragedy together with employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The causes of the fire are being established, a fire and technical examination has already been appointed. The case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties.
