Crimean became a defendant in the case for beating a neighbor with a bat

The police of the Bakhchisarai district detained a 61-year-old local resident suspected of causing serious harm to the health of a neighbor. The conflict occurred during joint drinking. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.

The police received a message from a medical institution. Doctors reported the hospitalization of a 40-year-old local resident with a severe head injury.

The inspection showed that in September of this year, the victim was visiting a neighbor, where the men drank alcohol. There was tension between them, which escalated into a verbal conflict.

During the quarrel, the host grabbed a wooden bat and struck the guest two times. The first was in the lower part of the head, the second from top to bottom, in the parietal region.

According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the victim suffered an open craniocerebral injury with a bleeding wound to the head.

Despite the severity of the damage, the man was able to get home and went to bed. He woke up in an ambulance. The call of the brigade was organized by the victim's mother, with whom he lives together.

On the same day, the police detained the suspect. It turned out to be a 61-year-old local resident. In an interview with the police, the man admitted his involvement in the incident. He explained his actions by insults and aggressive behavior of the victim.

The police opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons. The sanction of the article provides for the maximum punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years.

In relation to the defendant, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the country and proper behavior. Further investigative actions are carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

In the Bakhchisarai district, this is not the first case of an attack on acquaintances during joint drinking. In January 2026, a local resident went on trial for beating up a friend.

And in February 2026, a 36-year-old resident of the district hit a friend with a wooden board and received a suspended sentence. In March 2026, a court handed down a verdict in a similar case: a man broke a friend's arm with a blackboard and was sentenced to two years probation.
