Chicken Woman Sues Administration Over Dogs That Damaged Her Car

The Kirov district court of Kursk is considering a civil case: a local resident filed a lawsuit against the administration of the Railway District for compensation for material damage and compensation for moral damage.

According to the woman, she parked a car at one of the houses on the street Republican. On the morning of September 13, 2023, she found damage to the car, including traces from the legs of animals. She appealed to the police, but the initiation of a criminal case was refused - for the absence of a crime event.

Then the chicken woman sent an appeal to the district administration on the fact of damage to the car by street dogs. In response, she was informed that the capture of animals in the area of the house and on neighboring streets was carried out, and was also informed that within the framework of activities for working with animals without owners, the administration is not entitled to determine who is responsible for the consequences of their actions.

Referring to the federal law “On Responsible Treatment of Animals” and the regional law on granting local governments powers to capture and keep neglected animals, the plaintiff stated that the administration’s inaction, expressed in the improper performance of these powers, is directly related to the damage caused to her.

The woman asks to recover from the administration of the Railway District material damage in the form of loss of the commodity value of the car - 50 800 rubles, compensation for moral damage - 30 thousand rubles, as well as court costs.

A court hearing has been scheduled in the case.
