The Louvre was again in the center of the scandal: the museum found an open window
In the Paris Louvre found wide open window in the Grand Gallery, which presents works of Italian painting

In the Louvre in Paris, an open window in the Grand Gallery was discovered, where works of Italian painting are presented. This was reported by BFMTV, citing a source.
According to journalists, the window was spotted on the morning of May 3 - about six months after the robbery of the museum. It overlooks the promenade of François Mitterrand, where criminals in October 2025 placed a car with a lifting platform to enter the building.
The interlocutor of the channel noted that if there is a large staircase or a lifting platform through an open window, it would be possible to get inside the museum.
Two possible causes of what happened are now being considered. According to the first version, a malfunction of the old window mechanism and a gust of wind could lead to its opening. According to another version, the fire department of the museum may have improperly closed the window-door after changing the flag a few days before the commemorative events on May 8.
The Louvre was notified of the incident, but there was no official comment, according to BFMTV.
Additional questions about the museum's safety came after a student was detained Friday after he had infiltrated the underground technical premises and taken several photographs. According to police, the alarm did not work.
The Louvre was robbed in October 2025. Attackers entered the museum during the day and stole nine jewelry belonging to French queens and empresses. The damage was estimated at 88 million euros. Several people were detained, five were charged, but the jewelry has not yet been found.
After the robbery, a committee of the French parliament prepared a report on the state of security in the country's museums. The document noted that the management of the Louvre paid more attention to the prestige of the institution than to the protection of collections, and the state of the security system was assessed as extremely unsatisfactory.
