False lawyer from Lipetsk will answer in court for defrauding 11 clients for 590 thousand rubles

The Prosecutor’s office of the Soviet district of Lipetsk handed over to the court the materials of the criminal case of a 29-year-old local resident who traded fraud under the guise of legal services.

He is charged with six episodes under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, four under Part 1 of Article 159 and one under Part 3 of Article 159. This was reported in the supervisory authority of the region.

According to the investigation, the young man made contracts with citizens for legal support and took money from them, although he did not intend to fulfill the promise. There were 11 people online. He explained to each that his case was special and required payment for the preparation of requests, complaints and other documents.

The price of a false lawyer depended on the complexity of the situation described by clients and their financial capabilities: the amounts ranged from 20 thousand to 350 thousand rubles. In total, the victims lost more than 590 thousand rubles. Guilt in crimes solved by police officers, the man admitted. The maximum penalty for the imputed articles is up to six years in prison.
