Fraudsters stole 3.5 million rubles from residents of three districts of the Pskov region

Police in the Pskov region are investigating a series of cases of remote fraud. Victims of criminals were residents of Veliky Luk, as well as Pushkinogorsk and Pskov municipal districts. The total damage exceeded 3.5 million rubles.

According to the investigation, the attackers communicated via phone, messengers and social networks, using various schemes of deception. Among them: luring money under the pretext of paying for “expertise”, fictitious ads for the sale of car engines with the requirement of prepayment, luring to fake exchange platforms with the promise of easy earnings, as well as sending malicious links to steal funds from accounts.

Criminal cases under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”) have been initiated for all episodes. Police urge citizens to be vigilant and not to transfer money to strangers.
