A man opened fire on his wife and stepson in his home

In the US state of California detained 41-year-old Samuel Alfredo Tomasello, a suspect in the murder of his wife and attempted on the life of her 19-year-old son. The woman died in hospital from gunshot wounds, and the teenager managed to survive. This is reported by the Victorville Daily Press, citing the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office.

The tragedy occurred in the town of Victorville. After the shooting, the wounded young man managed to call the rescue service on his own. He told the dispatcher that his stepfather had opened fire on him and his mother.

Arriving police cordoned off the house and demanded that people inside come out. The first building left a 19-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Next came the alleged shooter, who surrendered to law enforcement without resistance.

During the inspection of the house, police found 39-year-old Denise Stovall with gunshot wounds. The victim was urgently hospitalized, but could not be saved. Her son was discharged from the hospital after medical treatment.

Thomasello was detained without bail. His first trial is scheduled for October 20 in Victorville. The motive for the alleged crime has not yet been established.
