On the EKAD in Ordzhonikidzev district killed a pedestrian

The accident, as a result of which a pedestrian died, occurred on the evening of September 15 at the 38th kilometer of EKAD in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district of Yekaterinburg. This is reported by the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate in the Sverdlovsk region.

According to preliminary data, a 33-year-old driver of a Ford car, a resident of Yekaterinburg with 12 years of driving experience, was moving along the EKAD in the direction of the Yekaterinburg-Serov highway. When driving 38 kilometers in front of the car suddenly was a pedestrian: 50-year-old man from the Chelyabinsk region ran to the road from right to left in the course of the car, waving his hands. The driver tried to avoid the collision, but did not have time to react.

The pedestrian died on the spot before the ambulance arrived. According to the results of the examination, the driver was sober.

It was found that at the time of the incident it was dark, and there were no retroreflective elements on the pedestrian’s clothes – this significantly reduced his visibility. The driver himself explained that he did not expect a person to appear on the track and did everything possible to prevent a collision.

Now employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate and the investigative task force are working on the spot - specialists find out all the details and circumstances of the accident, an investigation has been appointed.

The Sverdlovsk Region State Traffic Inspectorate reminds pedestrians of the need to cross the road only in established places, make sure that the maneuver is safe, and when driving along country roads in the dark, be sure to use retroreflective elements. Drivers are advised to be especially attentive in the dark and observe a safe speed mode.

Earlier, MK-Ural wrote that a fatal accident occurred in the Beloyarsk district on October 12. The accident occurred on the 39 kilometer of the federal highway "Yekaterinburg - Tyumen", near the village of Malobrusyanskoye. According to the preliminary version, the cause of the collision was a gross violation of traffic rules.
