The pensioner from the Timashevsky district returned more than 1 million rubles thanks to the intervention of the Prosecutor’s office.
In Kuban, a 71-year-old woman became a victim of phone scams. In February 2026, the attackers played a frightening scenario in front of the pensioner: they said that money was allegedly transferred from her account to the needs of the APU, and to avoid criminal liability, the woman must transfer a large amount. Under this pretext, more than 1 million rubles were lured from her.
A criminal case has been opened for fraud. The Prosecutor’s office of the Timashevsky district was not limited to supervision of the investigation – the department appealed to the court with a claim for damages. As a result of the measures taken, the pensioner was fully returned the stolen funds, the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
