In the Georgievsky district, the police completed the check on the application of an elderly local resident about fraud

In the Georgievsky district, the police completed the check on the application of an elderly local resident about fraud. This was reported in the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The pensioner said that he met a neighbor in the hospital room and shared the desire to improve the burial places of loved ones. The friend promised to install four monuments and lay the sidewalk. After discharge, they went to the cemetery together, examined the site and made measurements.
Having agreed on the cost, the pensioner gave the man a receipt of 90 thousand rubles. The work was supposed to be completed by December 2024, but this did not happen. The performer referred to the weather, and in February 2025 asked for another 30 thousand – allegedly because of the rise in price of materials. After receiving the money, he promised to finish in 10 days, but never got started.
The man later moved to another city. In September 2025, the pensioner demanded to return the money - he promised to compensate for the damage until March 2026, but the word did not keep. The total amount of damage amounted to 120 thousand rubles.
Police established the location of the suspect - a 45-year-old resident of the village Nezlobnaya. He was taken to the department where he confessed. A criminal case has been opened for fraud.
The police reminds: before paying for work, check the contractor, conclude a contract indicating the terms and conditions, save receipts and documents. If you suspect fraud, contact the police.
