In Taiwan, the number of victims is growing exponentially
Taiwan's Central Emergency Operations Headquarters reported that 616 people were injured on the island as a result of the passage of Typhoon Champie, another citizen died

The Central Emergency Operations Headquarters of Taiwan reported that 616 people were injured on the island as a result of the passage of Typhoon Champi, and another citizen died.
Earlier reports of this agency included data on one dead and more than 500 injured. The cause of the injuries was traffic accidents, as well as the collapse of trees and advertising structures caused by squall wind and heavy rains. It is noted that the death came after a person washed away by a storm wave on the coast in Pindong County.
According to the Central Meteorological Administration of Taiwan, the disaster began to decline, and the cyclone is moving from the island to Japan. Experts canceled all previously valid storm warnings, predicting a complete improvement in weather conditions over the next 24 hours.
Over the past two days, 9,027 accident reports have been reported to emergency services. Of these, 3,287 were related to fallen trees (including 1,282 in Taipei), and 3,033 were related to damage to infrastructure. The remaining applications were received on the facts of falling signs and billboards due to bad weather. During the storm, more than 340,000 households were left without electricity due to breakages in power lines and falling supports, but authorities said power supply in most areas had already been restored.
The most intense precipitation was recorded in Yilan County, where 650 millimeters of rain fell in 48 hours, while in some other areas this figure exceeded 500 millimeters. To prevent landslides, local authorities evacuated 4,960 residents from several risk areas, and it is expected that they will soon be able to return to their homes.
