On the water of the Crimea since January killed 17 people

Since the beginning of 2026, 17 people have died on water bodies of the Crimea, the first case was registered in January. This was reported on the air of the TV channel “Crimea 24” by the deputy head of the territorial body, the chief state inspector for small vessels of the GU EMERCOM of Russia in the Republic of Crimea Alexander Zraenko.

According to him, before most tragedies occurred in the holiday season, but now such cases occur at different times of the year. For example, in March, people on kayaks were carried to the sea.

Zraenko pointed to a positive trend: over the past five years, the number of deaths on the water in the region is gradually decreasing, and compared to the previous period, the decline was about 30%.

About half of all accidents and tragic cases on the Crimean waters are associated with the use of alcohol.
