The Sverdlovsk Regional Court has begun consideration of a resonant criminal case on bullying, abductions and extortion at a car wash in Kamensk-Uralsky. Eight members of an organized criminal group, which included a former employee of the State Traffic Inspectorate, appeared before the court. This is reported by E1.ru.
According to the investigation, in 2024, a local resident created a gang in which he involved his friends. In 2024-2025, 15 people, including minors, became victims of intruders.
The defendants abducted people, held them in a car wash, beat and tortured them. Under the threat of violence, they robbed victims and extorted large sums of money from them.
The safety of the criminal group, as the investigation believes, was provided by the inspector of the traffic police. Using official authority, he intimidated the victims, and in February 2026 gave the organizer information about the deployment of traffic police posts, which allowed him to escape.
The ex-policeman is also accused of abuse of power with the use of violence.
