Did not give way when turning: under Lida on the highway M6 in a hard accident killed two people
On October 23, VAZ and Volkswagen Passat collided on the M6 Minsk-Grodno highway in the Lida district. An elderly driver and his passenger were killed. SK opened a criminal case.
On Friday, October 23, in the Lida district on the highway “M-6 Minsk – Grodno” there was a tragic accident – two people were killed. This is reported by the Investigative Committee of Belarus.
According to preliminary data, the 75-year-old driver of the VAZ car was driving towards Grodno. During the turn, he was not convinced of the safety of the maneuver and did not give way to the oncoming Volkswagen Passat, which was driven by a 21-year-old driver.
As a result of the collision, the VAZ driver died on the spot. His 71-year-old passenger was hospitalized, but despite the efforts of doctors, died from his injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen Passat was not injured.
An investigative team worked at the scene. Employees of the Investigative Committee, specialists of UGKSE in the Grodno region and the traffic police conducted a detailed inspection, recorded all the circumstances and questioned witnesses. The necessary examinations have been appointed.
On the fact of the accident, the Lida district department of the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (violation of traffic rules, resulting in the death of a person).
