The reason for the violence was a quarrel between the couple on August 18. In the midst of the conflict, the man rushed at the woman with his fists, and then with a bottle. He delivered multiple blows to the head and body.
Two days later, the woman died in hospital.
The man was arrested. He pleaded guilty and went on trial.
