In Novosibirsk, a 36-year-old man was convicted of driving while intoxicated
According to the Prosecutor’s office of the Novosibirsk region, the incident occurred on May 31, 2026. The man drank alcohol, then sat behind the wheel of his car and went towards Karl Marx Square.
Near the house No. 13 on Karl Marx Avenue, the driver was stopped by traffic police officers. The man was removed from control of the car and conducted an examination. The breathalyzer showed 0.825 mg of alcohol per liter of exhaled air.
It turned out that earlier Novosibirsk had already been brought to administrative responsibility for refusing to undergo a medical examination. Therefore, a new violation became the basis for initiating a criminal case.
Leninsky district court found the man guilty under part 1 of article 264.1 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation and appointed him 310 hours of mandatory work. In addition, the convicted for two years deprived of the right to drive vehicles.
In a separate decision, the court confiscated the 2024 Haval Jolion owned by the man.
Earlier, “MK in Novosibirsk” reported that a resident of Tomsk confiscated a car VAZ, which he purchased on the day of detention for drunken driving.
