In the capital of Kenya, a rescue operation continues at the site of the sudden collapse of a multi-storey building under construction, under the rubble of which seven people were blocked, Xinhua news agency reports.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the country reported that almost all the builders managed to leave the facility on time, but visitors and employees of shops remain under the rubble of the shopping premises of the first floor. Emergency services managed to establish voice contact with part of the blocked people and supply oxygen through the resulting voids.
Kenya's National Construction Authority has launched a search for the building's owner and contractors as part of a criminal investigation into violations of basic building regulations.
